Canal+ set to expand Euro pay presence

C'est le titre d'un des articles du dernier numéro de TV International. Info ou Intox ?

After several years of asset stripping to cut multibillion-dollar debts, French broadcast giant Canal+ Groupe is preparing to expand its pay TV presence into more European markets. The Vivendi Universal-backed pay TV and terrestrial broadcast outfit already operates DTH platforms in France and Poland. It says the Polish operation, Cyfra+, offers a sound template for expansion.

"We intend to apply our pay-TV-turnaround expertise in other territories and see this growth panning out in key markets," Maxime Saada, Canal+ Groupe's vice president of strategy, told TVI. "We are also committed to our African operations and plan to expand its footprint where possible. These are the things we are now in a position to look [to do] beyond France"

Désolé Satellifax, mais qui aime bien châtie bien.
